The basement of Palazzo Santa Sofia dates back to the year 1233 and makes this building the oldest one in Mdina, which survived the earthquake in 1693. The other floors weren't added before 1938. The Palazzo built in a siculo-norman style, which is typical for buildings from the period of 1100 till 1530, is not open to public, but can be booked for private events.
